Chef
Like Miners and Botanists, Chefs are a production class — but instead of gathering raw resources, they cook at the Coastal Culinary Academy. Chefs turn gathered ingredients into Dishes and Drinks, which your heroes then eat at the Table to gain powerful buffs that last a full day. A well-fed party hits harder, survives longer, and earns more from every quest.
How Cooking Works

- Deploy two chef heroes onto a recipe at the Coastal Culinary Academy to begin cooking. Each recipe runs as a production task, just like a gathering quest.
- Every recipe consumes ingredients. You get those ingredients from Botanists & Miners, by buying them, or as rewards from chef quests — and you can also pre-cook intermediate ingredients (butter, flour, cheese) at the Academy.
- Knowledge skills give a chance to refund the ingredients you used and speed up cooking, so a skilled chef gets far more food from the same materials.
- There is a chance to cook a High-Quality (HQ) version of any dish. HQ food carries a stronger battle effect — the right skills raise that chance.
- Batch skills let a chef cook multiple servings at once from a single task, multiplying your output.
- The most powerful recipes are top-tier and stay locked until a chef learns the matching 5★ skill.
A Couple of Examples
Every recipe reads like a kitchen recipe — combine the listed ingredients in the listed amounts to produce one serving:
- Waffle = Flour ×1 + Egg ×1 + Butter ×1 + Honey ×1. A simple baked dessert that any starting chef can make.
- Lemon Tea (Drink) = Tea Leaves ×4 + Lemon ×1 + Distilled Water ×8. Drinks are brewed the same way dishes are cooked.
- Dongpo Pork = Pork ×3 + Ginger ×4 + Garlic ×4 + Sugar ×12. Heavier dishes need more — and rarer — ingredients.
Chef Skills
Chefs grow stronger by learning cooking skills at the Culinary Academy. Like battle and gather skills, they use a 1★ through 5★ rarity system, where higher-star skills give stronger effects. They fall into a few families:
- Knowledge skills — one per ingredient category (vegetable, meat, seafood, grain, beverage, alcohol, dessert, soup). They give a chance to refund that ingredient and speed up its cooking.
- Technique skills — tied to a cooking method (cold, pan-fried, fried, stir-fried, stewed, baked, grilled, gratin). They raise both the batch count and the quality for that style.
- Quality skills — Knife Skills and Mixing raise the chance of high-quality dishes and drinks across the board.
- Top-tier skills — 5★ masteries (Divine Cup, Heavenly Cuisine, Primordial Flavor) massively boost quality and unlock the most powerful recipes.

Benefit Tags
When you pick the cooking team for a recipe, a hero’s card may show a small tag — that hero’s skills benefit this recipe. Each hero shows at most one tag, the most important it qualifies for:
